Overview: NEC Versa N1100

By releasing the VERSA N1100 series, NEC wants to provide its customers with a useful netbook for wireless Internet navigation and communication, and a second computer solution in addition to their main system.

The new mini notebook computers with Windows XP running with the low-power consuming Intel Atom N270 processor, are ideal for finishing your work on the go, read and compose emails, check the latest news online and chat via instant messaging applications. Windows Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition has a great user interface with enhanced accessibility features, while the computer’s 8.9-inch widescreen LCD display offers a good resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels.
It is stylish, sporting a glossy piano black finish, and measures 250 x 176.5 x 31.3 mm at 1.17Kg, but even if it looks fragile, NEC VERSA N1100 can support up to 150Kgf pressure.

In addition to durability, the mini laptop computers feature 160GB hard disk drive for high data capacity, integrated wireless module, built-in 1.3MP camera for web video conferences, and USB charging function when the laptop of Off, so that you can recharge your cell phone, MP3 player or other mobile handsets anytime you need.

The keyboard offers ergonomics via the 17mm keypitch/2mm key stroke and there’s also the Gesture support for the touchpad.
NEC VERSA N1100 was released yesterday in Japan, while other countries will receive it starting mid November.

Review: NEC FC-N22A

NEC’s improved version of its ShieldPRO ruggedized tablet PC, the FC-N22A is destined to the work in the field, and built to be in the same time lightweight, durable, water resiatant, dust resistant and fanless.


Its touch-sensitive display is convertible to allow the user view the work from any position, and also provides high brightness of 750 cd/m2, with LED backlit, measuring 12.1 inches in diagonal.


The NEC rugged tablet operates for up to 12 hours continuously after the next battery recharge, and supports a wide range of temperatures between -20 degrees Celsius and +50 degrees Celsius.


Specifications include an ultra low voltage Intel Dual Core processor clocked at 1.06GHz, and Windows XP Professional operating system with Service Pack 2.


NEC ShieldPRO FC-N22A is expected in Japanese stores in June.

Review: NEC Versa S9100

NEC Versa S9100 is the newest laptop released by NEC.


It runs on Window s Vista Business operating system being powered by an Intel Core2 Duo processor with Enhanced Intel SpeedStep technology, and graphics taken care by Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 with up to 384MB shared memory.

Versa S9100 sports a 12-inch WXGA Supershine LED backlight display with a resolution of1280 x 800 pixel and comes wth 2GB DDR2 SDRAM 667MHz memory, a 2.5-inch S-ATA HDD of 160 GB with G-Force Shock Protection Technology, dual DVD-RW optical drive, Intel PRO 4965AGN 802.11a/g/n wireless module, Intel 82566MC Gigabit LAN, Bluetooth 2.0 + Enhanced Data Rate, built-in speakers with Integrated High Definition Audio , and the following connectivity slots and ports: 1 PCMCIA type II, 1 SD-Card reader, 2 USB 2.0 ports, Lin-out / headphone, Mic-In, 1 LAN RJ-45 Port, and 1 VGA 15-pin D-Sub.

The 6-cell 7800mAh battery keeps the Versa notebook operating for up to 6 hours.

It measures 292 x 214 x 29.8 mm with a weight of 1.25 kg.
