Review: BenQ MID Aries2





Winner of Bronze at the International Design Excellence Awards 2008, the BenQ MID Aries2 features ultra light weight and a cool design to be a great portable device with Internet capabilities.
Secondly, the interactive user interface is amazing! If you shake the MID it displays all the open windows, aligning them, and you can manage them immediately. You can flip it vertically and horizontally and browse the menus using your finger or stylus if you have to type, zoom or do other things. Imagine how you could manipulate pictures based on this Motion Sensing technology!

In a recent press release, BenQ announced the award for its Mobile Internet Device among 205 winners out of 1,517 entries from 26 countries.

"With the improvement of touch panel technologies, how to combine a familiar and interesting operation model with complicated technologies is the biggest challenge for BenQ's designers," said Manfred Wang, Chief Design Officer of BenQ. "The award is recognition of BenQ's excellence in developing innovative designs and technologies. In a dedicated pursuit of bringing enjoyment and quality to life, BenQ is committed to optimize today's digital mobile lifestyle through observing consumers' lifestyle and bringing innovative designs."



Revealed first time at the Customer Electronics Show as a prototype, BenQ Mid got a name, the Aries2, and became a real product in a very short time, being the most famous among all the other wireless Internet devices. It features a 4.8-inch display with touchscreen, a built-in 0.3MP web camera, high-speed Internet connectivity, the Linux RedFlag Midinux operating system, Intel Atom processor for low power consumption, 800MHz processing speeds, 512MB RAM memory, and 4GB Solid State Drive.
The Midinux operating system based on Linux, was designed especially for this type of Internet-enabled devices, and is characterized by high security, open interface, flexible customization and lots of other features.

Review: BENQ JOYBOOK Q41 WITH SECONDARY DISPLAY

We always stay with the eyes on the latest notebook releases from large manufacturers like Asus, Lenovo or Toshiba, but now let’s find out what is the last model from BenQ, another leader in the industry.


Recently it has launched a new series of notebooks called Joybook Q41, with a great feature - dual screen - one 2.5-inch auxiliary display that shows your songs, pictures and games, and the main wide screen with UltraVivid technology measuring 14.1 inches.


Joybook Q41 is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo processor and runs with the Windows Vista operating system, which combined with the auxiliary screen, displays the Windows SideShow and gives you access to all the information, with no need to open the notebook.

It is also the first laptop to provide VoIP function directly via its auxiliary display, from where users can easily dial to get in touch with their friends instantly.


The model is designed with a glossy belt for the auxiliary display and a red operation-key-lighting that adds more style to the general look.

Its auxiliary display is extremely helpful for busy people because it can display RSS feeds, calendar appointments, new e-mails, PowerPoint presentations and lots of other stuff, depending on how you set it.


The main display is based on the UltraVivid technology with Display Brilliance Enhancement Film, which means sharper details and more brightness for the ultimate viewing experience.

Additional characteristics include Wi-Fi support, Bluetooth, a standard 6-cell Li-Ion battery that lasts for up to 2h30min, up to 2GB of RAM, SiS Mirage 3 graphics card with 256MB shared memory, and a 4-in-1 card reader.

And here comes a new notebook from BenQ, the 14.1-inch Joybook R45 sporting a nice and elegant housing, and running on Windows Vista operating system.


It is powered by the Intel Core 2 Duo T8100 processor clocked at 2.1GHz and the graphics are enhanced by the nVIDIA GeForce 8400M G card which improves the image quality on the UltraVivid-enabled wide display with 1280×800 pixel resolution, 16 ms response time , 200 nits brightness and Display Brilliance Enhancement Film for ultra-sharp image quality.

We don’t have information regarding the price but as soon as BenQ will release it in stores in China, Taiwan, Southeast Asia and Russia this month, we’ll find out more.

Review: BENQ JOYBOOK X31

BenQ has just launched a new slim notebook included in its Joybook series, dedicated to the stylish customers.

The 1-inch thick Joybook X31 has a 13.3-inch LED display with 300 nits brightness, HDMI connectivity, biometric fingerprint sensor, delivering superb graphics via the nVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT video card with 512MB memory, all these encased in resistant magnesium-aluminum alloy which adds the metallic finish on the bronze background.
