Review: Toshiba Satellite P305D-S8818

The Toshiba Satellite P305D-S8818, the first model in the newly designed Satellite P305D notebook PC series with 17-inch display and AMD’s processor, is available now.


The Satellite P305D-S8818 costs $899.99 after $50 mail-in rebate. It sports the AMD Turion 64 X2 dual-core CPU at 2.1GHz, the ATI Radeon X1250 integrated graphics, 2GB of DDR2 memory, a 250GB hard drive spinning at 5,400rpm, DVD burner, harman/kardon stereo speakers and a built-in webcam with face recognition technology. The notebook’s 17″ display provides a resolution of 1440×900 pixels.


The laptop features the Atheros Wireless LAN with 802.11b/g support, an Ethernet port, and a 56k modem.


It has four USB ports with Sleep and Charge feature, an ExpressCard slot, 5-in-1 media card reader, Firewire port, VGA and S-Video outputs, and S/P DIF output port, which is shared with headphone port.


The Toshiba Satellite P305D-S8818 weighs 7.7lbs and incorporates a full-sized keyboard with 10-key pad, accompanied by the new Touch Multimedia control pad. This notebook features the Fusion finish with Horizon pattern.


The P305D-S8818 comes with Windows Vista Home Premium preinstalled and can be ordered through Toshiba’s official website .
